Arming Schoolkids Is Wrong

Arming schoolkids with guns and live ammo makes a lot of sense - if you're a gun manufacturer who needs to turn falling sales around by mandating use of their products by young people.
To anyone else, it makes no sense at all. A 14-year-old in middle school is still a child whose brain is still forming the capacity to exercise good judgement.
The notion that arming teenagers to defend themselves against the possibility of a school shooter or "defend the cause of liberty" will teach them to exercise maturity and restraint is pure nonsense.
Over 90% of doctors and teachers agree. If you doubt them, just ask any parent of a teenager if they're capable of cool, collected thinking and action in an emotionally-charged situation..
The gun lobbyists at AFC are spending millions of dollars in Florida to pass this bill. Only you can stop it. Call or write your representative on the list you find on the site and tell them

S.O.S. Executive Director
Madison Britt, JD,
Combat-Duty Marine
Madison Britt earned her law degree from Yale University after serving in the United States Marine Corps as one of the first women in combat duty.
She became personally involved in gun safety to prevent the sort of violence she saw in Iraq from continuing to plague American cities and towns, particularly among young people with fewer opportunities in troubled school systems starved of funds.
She launched S.O.S. to fight the gun lobby's efforts to revive teenagers' interest in guns for the benefit of gun manufacturers who, like the last generation's cigarette manufacturers, want to get consumers for their products while they're still immature and impressionable .
